The Winter is a great time to find a rental on the Upper West Side. This is an interesting market in that supply and demand decrease at the same time. Supply is low because people tend to stay in their apartments in the cold weather, not freeing up much inventory. And demand is low for the same exact reason – people are comfortable where they are, plus they probably have leases which are set to expire in the warmer months. In any event, the end result is that apartment rentals are listed at lower prices, and landlords are more likely to negotiate. So if you don’t mind running around in the cold, go find yourself a nice new home!
